We all lead busy lives filled with unique challenges and opportunities that can sometimes feel very overwhelming…..so overwhelming that often we forget about taking care of ourselves. As a woman playing multiple roles I know how easy it is to fall into that cycle – “I’ll work on myself tomorrow”, “I just don’t find the time”or “I’m too exhausted by the end of the day”.  However, fast forward a few years when your neglected body slams the brakes on you and says “Whoa! no way…no more”. What then?

Good nutrition and physical activity are vital for a healthy mind and body. Still, we have a growing population suffering from increasing rates of obesity, cardiovascular disease, diabetes and the list goes on. So, why then if people are aware of the link between nutrition, excercise and vitality is our society  facing such a health crisis? A couple of reasons:

1. Don’t know where to start. Too much information on what to do and how to do it that you don’t know how to process it and implement it in your daily life.

2. Lack of a strong support system. Maybe the people who matter the most don’t share in the goals you want to achieve or the lifestyle changes you want to make.

3. Lack of accountability. This ties in strongly with the support system. Relationships that nuture and encourage growth are essential to bring out the best in an individual. No man is an island!

4. Fear of failure. Missed out on a day’s workout? Ate a plate full of brownies in one sitting? We tend to look at these as failure on our part -“I’m never going to get this right”. I say, so what? We all slip up (even the pros do, trust me)…it’s what makes us human. What distinguishes two individuals who’ve slipped up is who is willing to clean the slate and give it another shot. Like everything else, attaining good health takes practice.

At YCT and Nutrition, it’s not just about flat abs and losing/gaining weight. We will work together to overcome challenges you’ve been/are facing. In a safe and supportive envirnment each individual becomes empowered to choose a plan that caters best to their lifestyle.  There’s no concept of failure….only moving forward.

I am committed to helping you achieve your goals and overcoming whatever obstacles may come along. I will give you the tools you need to get where you want to be and we will practise using them together. Getting in shape takes time, determination and most important of all, commitment. Working together we can create your own personalized plan toward health and wellness.

Namaste.
